The Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA International) and BIMCO, a prominent global trade organisation whose members account for 64% of the world's tonnage, have formalised their collaboration through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
This agreement is designed to enhance efforts in promoting diversity, sustainability, and professional growth within the maritime industry.
Addressing industry challenges
WISTA International and BIMCO will work collectively to tackle common industry challenges while also creating opportunities for professionals across the global shipping landscape.
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in several pivotal areas such as research and development, information sharing, and training and education.

Under this agreement, the two organisations will engage in joint initiatives and projects that are relevant to shipping and maritime innovation. They will exchange publications, data, and insights to mutually benefit their members.
Additionally, joint training programmes and seminars will be developed to enhance professional skills and industry knowledge.
