During the meeting, experts from ABS presented insights into the pivotal regulatory, technological, and market influences that are shaping the global maritime industry. With the advent of artificial intelligence, digital twins, and autonomy, there is a significant focus on integrating advanced fuels and digital ecosystems.
ABS Chairman and CEO, Christopher J. Wiernicki, remarked, “We are entering a brave new world defined by rapid change, where artificial intelligence, digital twins, autonomy, advanced fuels, and digital ecosystems will impact global shipping and shipbuilding.”
He emphasised the organisation's readiness to guide shipyards and owners in seizing emerging opportunities.

Captain Christopher Bulera, who chairs the committee and serves as the General Manager of Global Marine for ConocoPhillips, acknowledged ABS's dedication to maintaining safety standards.

Additional insights were offered by special guests, James Sagar from Hanwha Ocean Americas and David Kim of Hanwha Philly Shipyard, who shared information on Hanwha's latest shipbuilding projects and ongoing investments, further underscoring the dynamic progress within the industry.
