Wärtsilä, the technology group, plans to expand its primary spare parts distribution centre located in Kampen, the Netherlands, by 40%. This expansion will allow consolidation of nearby leased storage facilities into the Kampen site, aiming to enhance the efficiency of its burgeoning global service business.
The order intake for Wärtsilä's service sector has surged by 68% from 2020 to 2024, spurring a notable rise in spare parts deliveries from the Kampen centre. This development is expected to shorten delivery times, optimise logistics procedures, and boost the speed of service to clients.

Investment and development timeline
The company is set to invest EUR 14 million in this expansion project. Construction is slated to commence in early 2026, with commissioning expected in 2027. This strategic investment seeks to elevate customer value and support the future growth of Wärtsilä's service business.
