Raymarine, a well-regarded figure in marine electronics, has unveiled its latest Pathfinder Radar Systems. This launch includes the IMO Type-Approved CAT-1 Radar, along with the Pathfinder Black Box Radar System.
Designed to cater to various maritime needs, these advanced solid-state radar solutions are suitable for international shipping vessels, large workboats, superyachts, and inland commercial vessels.
Pathfinder’s cutting-edge technology
The Pathfinder Radar Systems are crafted on Raymarine’s established radar platform, known for its resolution, reliability, and integration capabilities. The CAT-1 models, featuring 27- and 32-inch displays, are fully compliant with IMO standards IEC 62288 and IEC 62388, making them ideal for SOLAS vessels exceeding 10,000 gross tons.
Meanwhile, the Black Box Radar System offers a more lightweight and cost-effective alternative, well-suited for inland and non-IMO vessels such as tugs, push boats, and fishing vessels under 500GT.

All Pathfinder radars deliver high performance through CHIRP pulse compression and beam sharpening technology, ensuring exceptional target separation and long-range resolution.
They include a solid-state 6-foot open array with a fan-less design and simplified cabling, adding to ease of installation and reduced maintenance needs.
The contemporary user interface is designed for ease of use with intuitive controls that minimize distractions. Additionally, the compact black box architecture facilitates seamless integration with any HDMI monitor that supports a 1920x1080 resolution. Pathfinder also accommodates Asterix CAT-240 output for integration with ECDIS, radar tracking, and naval systems.

Pathfinder commercial radars are engineered for durability, undergoing over three years of testing with components subjected to rigorous environmental trials to ensure reliability and longevity. Raymarine’s round-the-clock commercial support service further ensures minimal downtime, which is crucial for critical operations.
The IMO type-approved Pathfinder CAT-1 Radar System and the Pathfinder Black Box Radar System, the latter being ideal for inland commercial vessels not requiring IMO certification, are currently available for order.
