Nauticworx, a digital platform dedicated to offshore workboat chartering, has unveiled significant updates to enhance the user experience and platform efficiency.
Since its launch in September 2024, the platform has drawn considerable attention from extensive fleets and multiple projects. Recent improvements focus on increasing speed and enhancing usability. Charterers now have complimentary access to the platform, allowing them to fully utilise its benefits.
One notable advantage is the ability to quickly locate workboats at nearby locations, thus helping to lower the carbon footprint of marine construction and offshore (wind) projects and boosting local economies.
Introduced at SMM Hamburg last year, Nauticworx was developed to address the persistent issue of fragmented vessel chartering within the offshore industry.
Seamless collaboration between fleet owners
Nauticworx facilitates a streamlined interaction between fleet owners, charterers, and brokers
Nauticworx facilitates a streamlined interaction between fleet owners, charterers, and brokers through an intelligent matchmaking system that simplifies the spot chartering process. This operates on a transparent subscription model.
Their devised algorithm matches offshore support vessels with projects up to 800 nautical miles away globally, thus decreasing travel distances and minimising fuel consumption and emissions. This aligns operational efficiency with sustainability goals.
Driving efficiency and visibility in a fragmented market
By removing costs for charterers, Nauticworx hopes to dramatically boost engagement on the platform and hasten digital adoption across the sector. This approach provides several benefits:
- Fleet owners have increased visibility and access to broader potential clients near their vessel.
- Charterers experience streamlined access to available vessels, enhancing booking speed and operational flexibility.
- Brokers can use the platform’s matchmaking capabilities for quicker, more precise deals.
Pivotal moment for offshore chartering
Friso Visser, co-founder and managing director of Nauticworx, described the changes as a pivotal moment for the sector.
"In the past months several early adopters have joined the platform. Think of companies like ADNOC, Heerema, Jan de Nul, Van Oord, Saipem and many local fleet owners. They either publish their real-time project needs for temporary workboats, or list vessels with regional availability in the charter market," he stated.
"We are very thankful for their trust, for giving Nauticworx a chance to prove itself. By now opening the platform to charterers at no cost, hence, relinquishing a part of our original business model, we’re fostering a more dynamic, efficient, and sustainable marketplace. We really aim to provide benefits to every stakeholder in the value chain."
