MacGregor has been chosen to provide cargo access solutions for nine new RoPax vessels as part of the Grimaldi Group's comprehensive fleet renewal initiative. This substantial order involves supplying cargo access equipment for various vessels: three for Finnlines, four for Grimaldi Euromed, and two for Minoan Lines.
The construction of these ships is set to take place at China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard Co., Ltd. The order has been added to MacGregor's order book for the third quarter of 2025.
Vessel designs and capacities
The collaboration involved in this deal ensured that the cargo solutions provided are tailored to meet the specific needs of the vessels and the customer.
The order encompasses two distinct vessel designs:
- Three vessels designated for Finnlines, with a lane capacity of 5,400 metres and the ability to accommodate 1,000 passengers, intended for the Baltic Sea.
- Six vessels, four for Grimaldi Euromed and two for Minoan Lines, each with a lane capacity of 3,300 metres and a passenger capacity of 2,500, servicing routes in the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas.
