LOOKOUT has unveiled its latest innovation, LOOKOUT 3.0, an advanced upgrade to its renowned AI marine perception platform.
The system is designed to enhance safety and operational confidence for users of premium recreational boats, commercial fleets, and those in professional marine environments. This update brings significant improvements to decision-making capabilities on the water.
System integrates real-time video
The platform employs artificial intelligence to continuously scan water surfaces, identifying and tracking potential hazards, such as buoys, debris, floating logs, small craft, and marine mammals.
This information is seamlessly integrated with real-time video, charts, AIS, radar, and NMEA-compatible sensors, presenting a detailed 3D augmented-reality view on contemporary MFDs from brands, such as Garmin, Furuno, Raymarine, and Simrad, alongside iOS and Android devices. These features aim to reduce cognitive strain, enabling quicker and more precise navigational choices.

This function is particularly beneficial when navigating crowded harbours, operating in low visibility conditions, or managing shallow and obstacle-rich waters.
Dynamic shallow fences for grounding protection
In contrast to static chartplotters, LOOKOUT 3.0 creates dynamic 3D depth fences around the vessel, reacting to its draft and safety parameters.
These fences make shallow areas visibly prominent, building captains’ confidence in avoiding groundings without relying on guesswork.
Enhanced alert systems
The platform also incorporates a three-tier alert system that communicates with compatible onboard lighting and audio systems through NMEA messages. This system provides graduated alerts with subtle yellow lights for paying attention and more urgent red signals for immediate action, all designed to keep the captain's focus ahead and hands securely on the helm.
