Inchcape Shipping Services has unveiled a new office located in Geoje, South Korea, marking a significant expansion for the global provider of port agency and maritime services.
This addition brings Inchcape’s total presence in South Korea to three offices, with locations now in Seoul, Busan, and Geoje, catering to 23 ports across the country.
Geoje plays a pivotal role in the international shipping industry, particularly noted for its significance in shipbuilding and offshore projects. The city is integral to the construction of LNG carriers, container vessels, naval ships, and offshore platforms, making it a vital location for intricate maritime operations.
Offshore energy projects
The company has also been involved in comprehensive Drillship Support Projects
Inchcape has a history of supporting significant projects in Geoje, such as FPSO sail-away operations for offshore energy projects directed towards Brazil. The company has also been involved in comprehensive Drillship Support Projects, which include meticulous logistics and coordination for multiple drillships at major shipyards in the area.
Additionally, the firm’s government services have successfully managed complete access control and logistics in Hanwha Ocean's restricted area, alongside providing 24/7 crew scheduling and on-site coordination for naval vessels. The facilitation of wind jack-up vessel operations for offshore wind initiatives further highlights their expertise.
“Opening in Geoje allows us to be closer to our customers and the heart of Korea’s shipbuilding industry,” stated Sichang Lee, Korea Country Manager. “This expansion strengthens our ability to support complex offshore projects and provide tailored solutions for liner, tanker, and naval operators.”
