Nor-Shipping will introduce an offshore wind pavilion for the first time at its 2023 event, scheduled in Oslo and Lillestrøm from 6-9 June.

The pavilion, managed by the Norwegian Offshore Wind (NOW) cluster, aims to exhibit Norwegian expertise to a worldwide audience, creating business opportunities within the maritime and ocean sectors. A significant emphasis will be on floating offshore wind, which is anticipated to undergo substantial expansion.

Focus on Offshore Wind Industry

Arvid Nesse, Manager of NOW, remarked, “The offshore wind industry is the global ‘talk of the town’.”

He further stated the event's objective is to show that Norwegian companies are ready to contribute to the global market, aiding the development of a sector with considerable prospects for sustainable energy.

Diverse Expertise on Display

With over 350 member organisations, NOW offers a comprehensive range of skills, services, and solutions, potentially leading in unlocking significant growth and value, particularly in floating offshore wind.

Nesse noted, “The fact that Nor-Shipping attracts such a high-quality, global audience of industry decision makers makes it the perfect place to supercharge developments. Come and see for yourself in Hall T next June.”

Creating Opportunities for Profit

The event's new pavilion supports Nor-Shipping’s aim of fostering sustainable and profitable commercial opportunities in the ocean space, aligning with the 2023 theme of #PartnerShip.

According to Sidsel Norvik, Nor-Shipping Director, “We see this as an evolutionary step forward for Nor-Shipping. Combining their expertise with our platform will, we believe, create awareness, understanding and a desire to seize the business opportunity.”

Norway's Global Ambitions

Norway is positioning itself as a key player in the international offshore wind sector. NOW's members include companies like Equinor, ABB, Fred Olsen Seawind, and Mainstream, aiming for a global market share exceeding 10%, particularly in floating offshore wind. Originating from Norway’s Marine Energy Test Centre, NOW is expanding its presence with offices in Haugesund, Oslo, Stavanger, and Kristiansand, as it continues to foster innovation in floating wind technology.

International Presence at Nor-Shipping

Apart from the Offshore Wind Pavilion, Nor-Shipping will host various national pavilions showcasing vital maritime and ocean industry markets such as Japan, Germany, South Korea, Turkey, and Singapore. The 2023 event will feature five main exhibition halls covering approximately 22,000 m2. Attendees can also participate in an array of activities including the C-level Ocean Leadership Conference, Blue Talks, The Fourth International Autonomy Summit, and an AfterWork social schedule.
