Concordia Damen has embarked on an extensive refit project for Reederei Deymann, a prominent inland shipping firm in Germany.
The dry cargo vessel, named Hirschhorn, recently docked at the Concordia Damen shipyard in Werkendam to commence its transformation. This undertaking reflects Concordia Damen's commitment to sustainable fleet renewal.
Major aft ship renewal
The refit project focuses on the comprehensive renewal of the aft ship. Previously operating with a single engine and propeller shaft, as well as an outdated accommodation and wheelhouse, the Hirschhorn is set to undergo a significant upgrade.
This involves replacing the old setup with a twin-shaft propulsion system, featuring two new fuel-efficient diesel-electric 630 KWE engines.

The vessel's accommodation and wheelhouse will also be completely reconstructed to improve comfort and ergonomics, enhance visibility, and meet current operational standards.
