Concordia Damen has successfully secured a contract for a new CDS 110 Dry Cargo vessel with Amer Shipping.
The agreement was signed during the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam, where Concordia Damen, along with other Damen divisions, hosted clients and partners.
This contract reinforces the ongoing successful collaboration between Concordia Damen and Amer Shipping, building on previous projects such as the AM Voyager, AM Explorer, and Johannes Senior. Each vessel leverages Concordia Damen's in-house CDS 110 design, known for its efficiency, sustainability, and dependable performance on European waterways.
Key features of the CDS 110
The CDS 110 vessel measures 110 metres in length and 11.45 metres in width, featuring a shallow draught and substantial cargo capacity to ensure effective operations even in low water conditions.
The vessel's innovative hull design reduces resistance, optimises fuel consumption, and lowers emissions, thus supporting an environmentally friendly approach.

Peter Buijks, co-owner of Amer Shipping, emphasised the active role stakeholders must play in supply chain management, stating, "In transport, being able to provide a reliable service is key."
"That’s why we manage maintenance, planning and technical support ourselves. But we can only do that if our fleet consists of high-quality vessels, and that’s where Concordia Damen comes in."
Efficient logistics solutions
Highlighting the CDS Dry Cargo 110's capabilities, Peter Buijks noted, "With the CDS Dry Cargo 110 we can actually transport 200 tons more cargo compared to other 110-metre vessels."
