As England prepares to enter a second period of lockdown from Thursday, they can confirm that Cammell Laird will remain in full operation.

Since England entered its first lockdown in March, Cammell Laird has deployed a number of stringent measures across our site, allowing us to continue essential ship repair and maintenance works for the MoD, Royal Fleet Auxiliary and Seaborne asset community.

Challenge of COVID-19

David McGinley, Chief Executive Officer of Cammell Laird Ship Repairers and Shipbuilders and Atlantic & Peninsula Marine Services, said: “Cammell Laird’s number one priority has always been to safeguard the safety of our staff, customers and sub-contractors but in the face of the unprecedented challenge of COVID-19, it has required even more rigorous checks and practices to ensure our vital work can continue."

Cammell Laird has a clear track record of being able to operate with essential restrictions in place. Customers should be assured they face minimum disruption when visiting our facility. By deploying strict measures, we have found ways in which we can safeguard our workforce and customers whilst continuing to deliver essential projects.” Cammell Laird’s dedicated COVID-19 management team reviews the COVID-19 procedures on a daily basis.
