BAE Systems, Inc. announced that it received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2022 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality.

This is the third consecutive year and fifth time overall that the company has earned the top score and been designated as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality. BAE Systems, Inc. joins the ranks of more than 840 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.

Diversity and inclusion

Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive space for LGBTQ+ employees to feel respected and valued is critical to our company’s culture and success,” said Tom Arseneault, president, and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc. “We celebrate this achievement and reaffirm our commitment to policies and practices that foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplace.”

The results of the CEI showcase how 1,271 U.S.-based companies are promoting LGBTQ+ friendly workplace policies in the U.S., as well as helping advance the cause of LGBTQ+ inclusion in workplaces abroad through global operations.

CEI criteria

The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling into four pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
  • Supporting an inclusive culture
