In a move to improve safety in offshore operations, ABS has unveiled its web-based structural digital twin solution, ABS EagleTwin.
Specifically designed for owners and operators of FPSO, FLNG, and FSRU, this tool facilitates better decision-making in repair and inspection processes through a comprehensive 3D digital model of offshore assets.
Enhanced decision-making capabilities
ABS EagleTwin amalgamates inspection and Class data, offering seamless integration with various Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
This connectivity grants operators an in-depth understanding of the structural condition of their offshore assets. Providing real-time insights into asset conditions, EagleTwin assists with identifying risk factors and detecting possible issues at an early stage.
Operational efficiency and asset longevity
John McDonald, President and COO of ABS, explained the tool's benefits, stating, “EagleTwin is designed to tackle some of the key challenges of offshore asset management and inspection planning.”
He highlighted that this digital twin enhances safety and operational efficiency while protecting and maximizing the market value of critical assets. It further contributes to reducing unplanned downtime, extending asset life, and bolstering long-term investment strategies.
Advanced 3D visualisation and secure access
Offering an advanced 3D visualisation, EagleTwin is a fully scalable structural digital twin system that aids in assessing asset conditions for compliance and safety.
The software operates on a SOC Type 2 platform, renowned for its data security standards, and is accessible globally via the ABS MyFreedom portal. It also includes specialized tools for gauging planning, and CAD features, ensuring heightened accuracy and efficiency in structural assessments.
